TAA's Instructional Model

- Our online courses are available anytime and anywhere and are supported by licensed teachers and professional tutors, available on-demand, 24/7/365.
- Students don't have to choose between competing priorities: they can take care of their immediate family and work obligations and still get back on track.
- Students work at their own pace; our open entry/open exit program means students can start classes whenever they need.
The American Academy offers 230+ online courses. Courses are divided into quarter credits (approximately 25-30 hours of work) to make them more manageable for students. They range from foundation/remedial courses to college-level courses. TAA uses a combination of online courseware, online textbooks, and physical materials.
The American Academy's asynchronous, supported self-paced instructional model maximizes flexibility and student success. Students interact with licensed online teachers via email and weekly synchronous office hours. Students can email teachers or call into the teacher's voicemail anytime and will hear back within 24 hours on business days. When students need additional help, they can access professional tutors 24x7x365. The American Academy offers 50 minutes of free tutoring in English, Math, Science, and Social Studies; additional tutoring is available at your option.
TAA provides students with tools for developing self-management skills, including pace charts and proactive notifications to students, parents, and administrators.
